Common questions

My traveler isn't moving.

Wanderlands moves your traveler with the steps Apple Health records. Open the Health app → Sharing → Apps → Wanderlands and make sure Steps and Walking + Running Distance are allowed. If you chose the motion sensor instead, keep your phone with you while you walk. You can also add a walk by hand from the map's Today panel.

Does Wanderlands count steps in the background?

Your phone counts them; Wanderlands reads them when you open the app and once in a while in the background, so the road catches up with you.

What does Wanderlands Plus include?

Every journey and chapter beyond the first 18 km of the Salt Road, seasonal roads, companions and cosmetics. Plans: monthly, yearly (with a 7-day free trial) and a one-time lifetime purchase. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone.

I lost my progress.

Progress is stored on your phone only. Deleting the app deletes it. Back up your iPhone with iCloud or a computer before switching phones.

How do I restore a purchase?

In the app, open Settings → Restore purchases while signed in with the Apple ID you bought with.

Privacy

Wanderlands has no account and shows no ads. Steps and distance are read from Apple Health or the motion sensor and never leave your phone. A small amount of anonymous data goes to our purchase and ad-measurement services; the privacy policy lists exactly what.
